Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Housing Solutions Strategy Lead on behalf of Luton Borough Council.

Main purpose of position:

To work to the Transformation Lead in delivering identified work streams to support the Housing Solutions /TA DRP programme.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Research data indicating where resources are currently focused and current arrangements for service deliver
  • Identify where operational change is necessary and where deficiencies can be made
  • Where necessary, design and implement new operating models, processes and frameworks for practice/service delivery
  • Engage with staff in the establishment to do so and with officers in related support services whose expertise is needed
  • Identify any dependencies on delivering the change
  • Report back to the Transformation Lead re progress, barriers or risks to achieving the targeted spend reductions

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of welfare, homelessness, housing policies, homelessness legislation, strategies, and its implementation within a statutory homelessness service.
  • Experience of applying strong analytical skills and lateral thinking to develop solutions focused on the aims of the programme delivery.
  • Keeping projects plan up to date and keeping to timed deadlines.
  • Effective data record keeping of actions, decisions, and risks
  • The ability to pre-empt issues and identifying and mitigating actions and plans.
  • Building productive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, and utilising these to influence and deliver change.
  • Working independently and flexibly with a focus on delivering outcomes, not just following process.
  • Effective budget, time, and resource management
