Flexible People Ltd are currently recruiting Drivers Mates - specifically for weekends- to work alongside our lorry drivers for a well known client of ours, based in Swindon.
This role involves delivering large goods to residential properties. The type of goods you will be delivering are TV's, flat pack furniture, gym equipment, white goods etc.
Due to the weight of the products you are delivering you MUST be physically fit.
The client operate seven days a week, you will receive a weekly rota of 5-6 shifts a week, WEEKEND WORK IS INVOLVED.
As a drivers mate you will also be responsible for calling ahead to customers to let them know of your arrival time, so good customer service and telephone skills are essential.
You will also be a 'banksman' - ensuring that you are outside of the lorry at all times when the lorry is reversing, to ensure that it is safe to do so. You will be fully trained on how to do this.
Upon successful application, all new Drivers Mates are subject to an induction day that must be attended.
Please note that drug tests can be carried out at anytime at the clients discretion.
Pay rates of 13.58 per hour, including holiday pay.
The right candidate will be:
- Reliable and organized
- Have good communication skills and a good level of customer service
- Be fit and healthy and able to lift heavy goods
- Have your own steel toe cap safety boots and a high vis vest
