About the Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing team, serving clients across the Higher Education and Science, Residential, Workspace and Warehouses and Logistics sectors. The office, located in Lymington, is well connected to public transport infrastructure and has ample provision for cyclists.

About the role

With a degree relevant to structural engineering you will be based in the Lymington office, helping the Buildings team deliver projects across the Higher Education and Science, Residential, Workspace and Warehouses and Logistics sectors.

As part of your Structural Engineer role, you will be able to establish a sound understanding of the client brief. Using your own initiative and technical skills, you will support the wider (multi-disciplinary) project team through safe, efficient and effective delivery of tasks to deadlines. This will ensure that the project remains within budget and to agreed standards. You will be responsible for delivery of assigned tasks whilst acting under minimal supervision, therefore you will be expected to plan your own work to meet given objectives.

Additionally, you will assist in the development of team members to reach their full potential, whilst developing an appreciation of safe, sustainable and commercially viable solutions and stakeholder skills.

Structural Engineer Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards
  • Prepare own discipline designs, drawings and schedules as identified in the Project Quality.
  • Plan on assigned projects
  • Prepare / assist with the preparation of scheme evaluations, design statements, tender documents and any other reports identified in the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects
  • Design, manage and prepare /assist with interpretation of ground investigation contracts
  • Carry out other duties as identified in the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects

What Qualifications, Experience & Skills are required?

  • Relevant degree,relating to Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Previous experience of an engineering organisation
  • Experience working on building structures projects, design, calculations and consulting
  • 2 years minimum post grad experience
  • Excellent communication skills; Verbal & Written
