We deliver innovative, award-winning services to the public and private sectors and our mission is to make people and places the best they can be.This role sits within our Public Sector FM business division that provides Cleaning, Catering, Facilities Management, Hard Services, Pest Control and Security services to a wide range of prestigious clients, within the Healthcare and Education market.About The Role:Days of Working: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and SundayShift Pattern: Monday to Thursday with a range of 07:00am to 19:15pm, Sunday 11:15am to 19:15pmAs a Catering Assistant in this retail environment, you will be serving staff and visitors with freshly prepared food and drinks, including specialty hot and cold beverages. You will keep stock displays replenished and ensure all areas are clean and tidy. Part of your job is to make sure crockery and cutlery are spotless and safely stored to avoid breakages. Good communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with patients/students, visitors, and staff both in person and over the phone. You will also follow HACCP and food safety codes and monitor temperature control procedures. It's a hands-on role that keeps you busy and engaged with people.As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving staff and visitors freshly prepared products, preparing refreshments including hot and cold specialty drinks. Replenishing stock displays and ensuring all areas are clean and tidy.
  • Ensure that crockery & cutlery are cleaned, maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and safely stored to prevent unnecessary breakage.
  • Good communication skills are required, both face to face and on the telephone. The post holder will be expected to communicate with, patient's visitors and staff.
  • To ensure codes of practice for HACCP and food safety are followed.
  • To monitor temperature control procedures following set specification.
  • Main roles to be serving customers, coffee making, handling of money, general kitchen preparation.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate - not essential as training can be provided.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
