Our client based in Lymington has a requirement for a qualified and developing Maintenance Technician to join their busy manufacturing business.

The main purpose of the role is to support the engineering team in ensuring maximum availability and reliability of production equipment by attending to equipment breakdowns and effecting repairs promptly. You will also carry out PPM activities, organise maintenance of site and the utilities.

The main duties will include the following:

  • Maintain and support current products and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure production equipment is available and operating correctly when it is needed.
  • Support production training processes.
  • Develop processes and gather data.
  • Seek to provide continual improvements.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment operates in accordance with required standards.
  • Liaison with contractors and the ability to review risk assessments and method statements.
  • Adherence to plant and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Respond quickly to reduce line stop time.
  • Support engineers across the business.

The role would suit a relative beginner with the right qualifications and a year’s industry experience, someone who is looking for an opportunity to develop and gain good experience.

Applicants must have practical engineering / technical experience with a proven track record of maintenance delivery and must be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline. You will also need to have a strong multi-skilled background (with an electrical / electronic bias) in order to understand the root cause of equipment breakdowns and develop solutions.

Needless to say, good communication and IT skills are a must, as is a collaborative approach to working.

This is a full-time permanent position with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

There is a standard 37.5 hour working week from Monday to Friday, the hours are to be agreed but some flexibility on start and finish times is available. Starting salary of £26k per annum on offer.
