Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? Vision for Education are recruiting Secondary SEN Teaching Assistants across the Lymington area! If you have experience, or SEN based qualifications, we want to hear from you!  

As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting student’s learning and development. You will work closely with experienced teaching staff to provide academic and pastoral support to students with diverse needs.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be patient and empathetic, and have a genuine passion for education. A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is desired but not essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Individualised Support:  Provide tailored support to children with severe autism, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities and resources.
  • Assistance in Classroom: Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments, assisting with classroom activities and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Emotional Support: Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with students, offering emotional support and encouragement to build their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external panels to ensure continuity of care and support for each child.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of student progress and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
  • Inclusive Practices: Promote inclusivity and diversity within the school community, advocating for the needs of children with SEN and raising awareness among staff and peers.
