Our client a private practice of Building Surveyors and Architects based in the New Forest, Southampton area are currently recruiting for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join them on a full time, permanent basis. As a practice in their surveying department they undertake planned maintenance, dilapidations, party wall work, project monitoring, project management, building surveys and HMO related work.

The Graduate will assist their established Building Surveying team across a broad range of commercial and residential building surveying duties including completing building surveys, undertaking inspections, commercial dilapidations, party wall, overseeing works on site and contract administration. The position will be based in their Lyndhurst office and involve working mainly in and around Southampton, Salisbury, Bournemouth and the New Forest, but with other work throughout the UK.

Graduate Building Surveyor Overview

  • Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments from inception to completion
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects and liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
  • Assist with the managing of client/project teams to deliver building surveying services profitably and on time
  • Visit sites to undertake surveys, visit construction sites, meet with sub-contractors, contractors, clients and other staff as required to deliver projects.
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
Graduate Building Surveyor Job Requirements
  • Degree qualification in Building Surveying or similar
  • Full driver's license
  • Live within a commutable distance of Lyndhurst and be willing to travel to sites in nearby areas
  • Strong communication skills and a client facing personality
