This is an amazing opportunity which has just become available to work alongsideHead Chef Anton Piotrowski(Master Chef the Professional Winner), at the Rising Sun Lynmouth.

This would ideally suit someone who is an experienced and talented sous chef who is looking for that next step to take more control and responsibility in the kitchen.

As Sous Chef you will support the Head Chef in overseeing a team, ensuring food is prepared to a high standard, building a strong relationship with our front of house teams to deliver exceptional levels of service to all our guests.

Hours would be between 40-48 a week, based on a five day working week.

Rosette experience or similar quality dining standard required for this position.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for learning and growth.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety practices, and basic culinary techniques.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Confidence with the overall running of the kitchen.
  • Maintain excellent supplier relationships.
  • Supporting our Head Chef with the management of food costs and budgeting.
  • Planning kitchen team rotas.
  • Competent knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling and dietary requirements.
  • Ensuring correct prep levels by our dedicated prep team.
  • Ensuring deliveries and stock are put away correctly by the Goods Receiver.
  • Temperature records.
  • Checking cleaning rotas are completed.
  • Monitoring and training staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Encourage development and support the kitchen team with their skills.
