Job Title: CAD Designer - HVAC Systems

Location: Lytham


We are seeking an CADDesigner - HVAC Systems for a great client based in Lytham. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to grow their career in HVAC system design within the Building and Construction industry. The role will involve creating both 3D models and 2D technical drawings of innovative heating solutions, ensuring all documentation is up to the required standards. The position is ideal for someone eager to further develop their skills within a design team and eventually progress within the Design Engineering field.


Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineers to gather product requirements, design constraints, and offer input on designs.

Develop accurate and detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor (other CAD software such as SolidWorks will also be considered).

Support reverse engineering efforts and generate new drawings and designs when required.

Prepare sheet metal parts and 2D piping/cabling routes for various HVAC projects (sheet metal experience is a plus but not essential).

Extract critical dimensional data, ensuring safety and compliance details are clearly communicated in technical documents.

Update and maintain technical drawings, including wiring diagrams and P&ID diagrams, while ensuring revisions are fully documented.

Use Autodesk Vault to preserve design history and track modifications.

Assist in the development and maintenance of drafting standards in line with BS 8888, BS EN 22768-1, and BS ISO 7000.

Perform goods-in inspections and acceptance checks for newly produced parts.

Work closely with the engineering team during project meetings to provide insights on design modifications and improvements.

Contribute to the training of junior team members in best drafting practices.


Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma or degree in Drafting, Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience working in an engineering context, with HVAC system design experience being highly desirable.

Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks or other CAD software will also be considered).

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in design.

Familiarity with engineering standards and technical terminology.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

A desire to expand your skills and knowledge within the HVAC design field.
