Senior Product Development Scientist (SPDS)Department: Research & DevelopmentLocation: Head Office, LythamHours: Flexible working hours around core hoursReports to: Head of Research and DevelopmentSalary: Up to £48,000 depending on experienceRole Overview:Our client is seeking a Senior Product Development Scientist (SPDS) to lead and drive both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects. This hands-on role will involve leading the development process from concept to product launch while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.Key Responsibilities:• Lead NPD and EPD projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.• Stay ahead of industry trends by attending events both in the UK and overseas (next one is Barcelona in May) and researching new ingredients, technologies, and packaging options.• Develop and manage clinical trials, including protocol creation, execution, and data analysis.• Support technical advisors and sales teams through technical expertise and presentations.• Oversee the creation and testing of new products in the R&D laboratory, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards.• Manage the technical transfer of projects into manufacturing, driving efficiencies and cost savings across the process.• Provide technical support for QA/QC investigations and collaborate with procurement teams for supplier engagement.• Coach and mentor junior R&D staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.Qualifications and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree (min. 2.1) in a Science-based subject, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in product development.• Strong research, project management, and analytical skills.• Excellent communication abilities with the capacity to present complex data to diverse audiences.Benefits:• Career development with access to further qualifications, fully funded by the company.• Flexible onsite working hours and a supportive environment that encourages professional growth.• Competitive salary and benefits package.Occasional Duties:• Travel to other sites or international locations may be required.• Attendance at staff meetings and additional training as needed.If you're ready to take the next step in your career and lead impactful product development projects, apply today to join our client's dynamic R&D team!Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
