Job Title: Press & Weld Linishing

Reporting to: Press & Weld Area Supervisor
Our client is seeking a skilled individual to operate a range of machinery, both manual and automated, to produce high-quality metal components. You will work independently and, at times, as part of a team, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Uphold consistently high-quality standards for both standard and bespoke metal products.
- Maintain proactive communication with supervisors, managers, and the Quality Control team regarding production targets, quality assurance, and health & safety (H&S) matters.
- Ensure your work area remains clean, organised, and compliant with H&S regulations.
- Adhere to all H&S protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Previous experience in an engineering or sheet metal production environment is essential.
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure production meets required standards.
- Follow established internal processes and complete associated documentation accurately.
- Basic IT proficiency.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Practical understanding of lean manufacturing principles and familiarity with 5S methodologies.
- Ideally, experience in metal finishing processes, including operating belt linishers and pedestal polishers, with a focus on dressing welds to the highest standards.
- Sound knowledge of sheet metal processing and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines, even under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot operational faults effectively.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of production efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload and contribute positively to team performance.
