Job Title: Press & Weld TIG/MIG Welder

We are currently seeking a skilled TIG/MIG Welder to join our client's production team. This role involves welding a variety of metal materials, from thin gauge to medium heavy plate, using both manual and automated equipment. The successful candidate will work independently and, on occasion, as part of a team to achieve production targets while adhering to high-quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Consistently uphold high standards for both standard and bespoke metal products.
- Communication: Maintain proactive communication with supervisors, managers, and the Quality Control team regarding production performance, quality assurance, and health & safety (H&S) matters.
- Work Area Management: Ensure the work area is kept clean, organised, and compliant with H&S regulations.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Experience: Previous experience in an engineering or sheet metal production environment is essential.
- Quality Inspections: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure production meets required standards.
- Process Adherence: Follow established internal processes and complete associated paperwork accurately.
- IT Skills: Basic proficiency with IT systems.
- Manufacturing Background: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing: Practical understanding of lean manufacturing principles and familiarity with 5S methodologies.
- Welding Experience: Ideally, experience with mechanical presses, spot welding, and a general understanding of sheet metal processing.
- Engineering Drawings: Ability to interpret engineering drawings effectively.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently and manage strict deadlines, even under pressure.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with effective troubleshooting abilities.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Manual Dexterity: High level of attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of production efficiency and commercial aspects.
- Work Management: Demonstrated ability to manage workload and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
