Our client, based in Macclesfield is looking to recruit an experienced Quality and Compliance Officer:

Job Purpose:

  • Assist the Head of Quality & Compliance in coordinating quality processes and systems.
  • Be the go-to person for product and regulatory compliance, including food safety and chemical composition requirements.
  • Develop processes to enhance quality across the value chain, ensuring products meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Day to Day supervision of a Lab Technician and provide ongoing support for quality within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with BRC-GS and ISO9001 certification, including documentation, procedures, and training.
  • Establish product quality specifications and test protocols in collaboration with customers and suppliers.
  • Provide management with formal reports on quality activities, benefits achieved, and future improvement recommendations.
  • Participate in auditing teams to ensure effective BRC-GS and ISO procedures.
  • Investigate customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
  • Continuously review and improve the company quality system.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven ability to manage quality systems.
  • Experience in providing regulatory support in a highly regulated industry (Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food)
  • Strong commercial awareness and a track record of dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of paper making, web processing, coating, or similar industries highly desirable

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent work experience.
  • Problem-solving training (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D).
  • Certification in Quality Assurance or membership in the CQI.
  • BRC-GS training.
  • Science or engineering degree
