Are you dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant at our Special Needs School in Macclesfield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to address the unique needs of each student.
  • Support students in developing effective communication and social skills.
  • Manage challenging behaviours through positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Encourage and facilitate engagement in classroom activities and learning.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special education are advantageous.
