Position: Resident Electrical Engineer

Macclesfield, Cheshire

Circa £21.00 - £22.00 per hour

  • Start time of the shift 7am or 12pm
  • End time of the shift 4 pm or 8pm
  • Monday to Friday

Role Overview: As a Residential Electrical Engineer, you will perform various tasks at customer sites, including service, maintenance, and improvements to electrical systems. Your responsibilities will also encompass energy solutions and small project work. This role requires both hands-on work and customer interaction, with the goal of fostering long-term relationships and enhancing electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Work: Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive work as needed.
  • System Improvements: Identify and implement proactive improvements to customers' electrical systems.
  • Energy Solutions: Develop and deliver energy-efficient solutions.
  • Callout Rota: Participate in an out-of-hours callout rota and be involved in the escalation procedure.
  • Project Work: Handle small project tasks related to electrical systems.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Certification: City & Guilds / BTEC / NVQ in Electrical Engineering.
  • Additional Certification: 18th Edition required; Test and Inspection qualifications desirable.

Required Experience:

  • Fault Finding: Proven experience in fault finding within electrical panels.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computers for various tasks.
  • HVAC Systems: Experience working with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) plant.
  • Report Writing: Experience in writing clear and detailed reports.
  • Electrical Systems: Proven experience in maintaining, upgrading, and repairing building electrical systems.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Technical Skills: Strong hands-on skills with electrical systems.
  • Customer Relations: Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts and participate in a callout rota.
