We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Strategic Buyer (Aerospace Programs) to join one of our prestigious clients based near Macclesfield!
This role is central to developing and executing procurement strategies, driving supplier performance, and ensuring cost-efficiency across programs. As a Strategic Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in leading sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing key supplier relationships. Your contributions will directly impact the long-term success of aerospace programs, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company objectives.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What youll be doing
- Develop and present strategic procurement plans aligned with project goals during site reviews
- Lead supplier sourcing, RFQs, and contract negotiations, focusing on pricing, terms, and customer needs
- Manage supplier relationships to drive performance and continuous improvement
- Oversee program procurement change control, ensuring compliance with Export Control and ITAR
- Ensure BOM accuracy and maintain cost targets and supplier data
- Communicate material requirements and forecasts to suppliers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities and manage supplier risks with tools like Dun & Bradstreet
- Act as the escalation point for cost, contractual, and supplier issues
- Occasional travel within the UK and possibly abroad for supplier meetings
Hours
Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm or 7:30am-5pm
Pay
Upto £45,500 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Skills/Experience Required
- Proven experience in strategic procurement with a focus on contract and pricing negotiations
- Strong background in the Aerospace sector, with knowledge of industry standards and supplier networks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement processes
- Excellent negotiation, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
- Strong relationship management and focus on supplier performance and risk management
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement
