We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join our fantastic School in South Manchester.

This role involves delivering high-quality education, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the overall development of our students.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Teach 40 one-hour periods across a two-week timetable.
  • Provide feedback to pupils and families through various channels such as Parent’s Evenings, Written Reports, and Grades as per the Reporting and Assessment schedule.
  • Attend and actively contribute to Department meetings.
  • Create a safe, positive, and disciplined learning environment, promoting mutual respect and understanding.
  • Set and communicate high expectations to pupils, reinforcing them regularly.
  • Understand the profile of the pupils you teach, including special educational needs, medical issues, and academic progress.
  • Prepare differentiated, stimulating, and accessible lessons that cater to all pupils, employing a range of teaching styles.
  • Ensure learning is appropriately challenging and provide ways for pupils to demonstrate their progress.
  • Consistently mark and assess work, providing positive and constructive feedback.
  • Act as a role model both in and out of the classroom, treating pupils as individuals and consistently applying school policies.
  • Establish a culturally aware and inclusive environment, recognizing and capitalizing on diversity to enrich the learning experience.

Other duties:

  • Perform the role of Form Tutor.
  • Contribute to the School’s co-curricular programme.
  • Support with whole School events, including Open Mornings.
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as requested by the management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A good Honours Degree in a relevant field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and current educational developments.
  • Excellent subject knowledge with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
