While experience and qualifications in child care are valued, they are not essential. We provide intensive support and training for this role. We welcome diverse professional and personal skills, hobbies, and interests that can be shared with the children and utilised in your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Behavior Management: Address challenging behavior, including verbal abuse and possible threats, with a positive role model approach.
  • Consistent Support: Maintain a consistent approach, adhering to changing guidelines and procedures from our Governing Body.
  • Developmental Support: Help young people develop functional approaches, equal opportunities, independence, and social skills in preparation for adult life.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, carers, third parties, and the staff team to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
  • Compliance: Ensure placement plans, policies, procedures, risk assessments, and rotas are in place and followed, supporting education.

Applicant Criteria

  • Experience: Relevant social care experience such as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Care Worker, Project Worker, or Teaching Assistant, ideally with challenging behaviors.
  • Passion: A strong desire to make a difference in young lives.
  • Resilience: Understanding of trauma and the resilience to handle challenging behavior.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, initiative to resolve problems, and the ability to be a positive role model.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Availability: Willingness to work Monday to Sunday between 8 am - 11 pm and commit to an average of six sleep-ins per month. Mix of Earlies, lates and long days
