Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in secondary schools in Macclesfield. The role is to start ASAP, and we are looking for an individual who can make a real difference in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

As a SEND LSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of learning and physical needs across the curriculum. Your duties will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, ensuring that they can access the curriculum effectively.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored learning interventions.

  • Promoting an inclusive environment where students with SEND feel supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their potential.

  • Supporting the student's emotional and social development through positive role modelling and consistent guidance.

  • Assisting with personal care where necessary, depending on the needs of the students.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience working with students with SEND, ideally in a secondary school setting, is essential.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable nature, with the ability to engage and motivate students with varying needs.

  • Knowledge of strategies to support students with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and learning disabilities.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.

  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the school community.
