Manufacturing Technicians run and maintain factory equipment and assembly processes, monitor and check the product quality and document results in strict adherence to protocols. To achieve maximum effectiveness of machinery and equipment by minimising downtime and supporting the effective operation of the PPM system.
Main Role and Responsibilities
路聽聽 聽To ensure efficient production through maintenance of assets, assured technical capabilities and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
路聽聽 聽They ensure products are produced exactly as intended and are free of defects.
路聽聽 聽They will perform equipment setup, operation, equipment adjustments and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality and efficiency.
路聽聽 聽They run tests on all assemblies and equipment to test for safety and productivity before they are put into production.
路聽聽 聽If in testing assemblies and equipment the Manufacturing Technician identifies any problems, they must identify potential solutions and attempt to troubleshoot the issue using their technical knowledge.
路聽聽 聽Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools, a highly automated manufacturing cell or process.
路聽聽 聽Working on or monitoring the output of an assembly station.
路聽聽 聽Know the manufacturing process in detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.
路聽聽 聽Monitor and check the product quality as they will be responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and acting to correct it.
路聽聽 聽Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves that manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations. It is important that procedures are followed, but it is also important that it can be shown and proved that procedures were followed.
路聽聽 聽Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to make sure the machine or process never breaks down.
路聽聽 聽Keep maintenance logs for all the machines or process they oversee, which requires proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
路聽聽 聽Provide regular productivity reports, and incident reports if an accident occurs.
路聽聽 聽Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process or apply.
路聽聽 聽Ensure production area is safe to work, productive and has required inventory.
路聽聽 聽Maintain production machines and equipment鈥檚.
路聽聽 聽Ensure equipment and work floor is clean, safe and well-maintained.
路聽聽 聽Monitor and control processes using visual observation, process data and on-line testing.
路聽聽 聽Identify and debug problems in processes, products, equipment and work for solution.
Skills and Attributes
路聽聽 聽A time served engineer with minimum HNC/HND qualification in an Engineering discipline is essential.
路聽聽 聽Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively and within a cost effect manner
路聽聽 聽Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions
