Operations Assistant

Location: Magherafelt, BT45 6HN

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum

Hours: 8.30 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday, 8.30 - 16.00 Friday

The Role

  • To assist with production, warehousing and distribution functions of the business in Ireland to optimise service at the highest level of operational efficiency
  • Advise customers in a professional and courteous manner with their everyday commercial and technical queries.
  • Operate an integrated systems package to enter product orders and distribution instructions to ensure all customer orders are made to the highest standard

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Provide customers with effective support for sales ordering, commercial and technical queries.
  • Maintain the flow of sales orders within the computer system, to enable management to make effective operating decisions.
  • Liaise with despatch companies regarding customer deliveries

Warehouse:

  • Ensure the efficient manufacture, picking and dispatch of customer orders
  • Liaise with the management team to ensure daily production targets are met, and customer queries are resolved
  • Work safely and efficiently whilst carrying out all daily tasks assigned to you
  • Understand and react to the changing requirements of customer orders
  • Ensure all working procedures are followed and checks are carried out at all times
  • Work towards the common goal of a zero-error rate. If an error does occur, ensure it is reported correctly and any actions identified to prevent its repetition are fully implemented

Skills and Qualifications

  • Expected educational qualifications: GCSE’s or equivalent are a minimum with emphasis placed Maths and Literacy

Essential

  • Knowledgeable – a polite manner with a good working knowledge of key customer service & operations tasks and processes
  • Planning & Preparation – you must be self-motivated, conscientious and able to work to deadlines
  • Practical – after training you must be competent in processing transactions within the Company’s ERP system
  • IT – a good understanding of IT systems and generic software applications. A broad knowledge of computer-based sales order processing packages
  • Personality – Team player with organisational skills. Good communication and people skills at all levels in the company and in Customer organisations

Desired

  • IT – Basic understanding of CRM/ERP systems
  • Practical – Atlet/Counterbalance/Reach Forklift Licence
