The Role
As an Accountant, you will work closely with the Head of Finance to provide essential financial insights, management, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on operational budgets and five-year plans.
- Oversee fee management, including invoices, collections, and debtor analysis.
- Provide VAT advice, manage computations, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Produce financial reports and rolling forecasts for senior leadership teams.
- Ensure financial governance, audit readiness, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Support the financial management of capital and maintenance projects.

The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a passionate and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. About you:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Proven experience with VAT, including explaining complex concepts to non-finance colleagues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to support school outcomes.
- Passion for working within the education sector.
