**TAX SENIOR**Job Overview:

As a Personal Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, providing expert advice, and supporting the wider tax team. You will work with a range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), sole traders, partnerships, and other individuals with complex tax affairs. This role will require a combination of technical expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and the ability to manage workloads efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Management:

    • Manage a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax returns.
    • Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their tax queries and providing proactive advice.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent client service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Tax Compliance:

    • Prepare and submit Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates.
    • Ensure clients are compliant with HMRC regulations, deadlines, and legislation changes.
    • Identify potential tax savings and reliefs for clients, ensuring optimal tax efficiency.
    • Manage PAYE and capital gains tax issues, and offer advice on inheritance tax planning.
  • Advisory:

    • Provide high-level advisory services on tax planning for personal clients, including advice on pensions, investments, and estate planning.
    • Assist in planning and structuring personal and family tax affairs in the most tax-efficient way.
    • Advise clients on non-domicile, residency, and international tax matters, where applicable.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Stay up to date with the latest tax legislation and ensure clients are informed of any relevant changes.
    • Support the tax team in dealing with more complex tax matters, such as offshore tax structures, trusts, and inheritance tax planning.
  • Team Support and Development:

    • Mentor and assist junior staff in their development, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
    • Work closely with tax managers and partners on larger projects, assisting with research, planning, and implementation of tax strategies.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and systems to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Essential:

    • ACCA/ACA/ATT/CTA qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience.
    • Strong understanding of UK tax legislation, particularly personal tax, PAYE, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
    • Experience managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including HNWIs.
    • Proficient in tax software and MS Office (particularly Excel).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Desirable:

    • Experience with non-domiciled and international tax matters.
    • Knowledge of trusts and estate planning.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Analytic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
