This organisation blends compassion-driven services with financial and operational excellence to sustain its impactful work.The RoleAs the interim or permanent Head of Finance, you will report to the Finance Director and provide essential financial leadership to support strategic decision-making and operational effectiveness. This pivotal role ensures the organisation's financial sustainability while fostering a collaborative and supportive culture. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the preparation of accurate and timely budgets, financial forecasts, and year-end accounts.
  • Delivering insightful financial analysis to senior leaders and Trustees to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Supporting the implementation of a new financial accounting system to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Managing and developing the Finance Team to maintain high standards of performance and accountability.
The Successful CandidateTo succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and experienced finance professional with:
  • Experience in a charity or not-for-profit organisation, with a solid understanding of SORP, Gift Aid, and VAT.
  • Proven expertise in financial analysis, statutory accounts preparation, and VAT reporting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop your team.
  • Exceptional Excel skills, with experience in Exchequer being desirable.
