We are recruiting for a Tax Manager on behalf of a highly successful accountancy practice in Maidenhead, predominantly to manage the personal tax compliance of a varied client portfolio. This is a well-established firm that continues to go from strength to strength and will offer a dynamic working environment and operates a hybrid working model.

If successful you will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager and Tax Partner, managing and overseeing the personal tax compliance for approximately 700 clients and a tax team of six. Your role will be to ensure efficient and prompt tax compliance for clients, to include reviewing and preparing self-assessment tax returns.

As Tax Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the personal tax compliance team and allocating client responsibilities in a structured and efficient manner
  • Managing a client portfolio and providing a high-quality service to clients, ensuring that statutory deadline are met
  • Organising the annual tax compliance function to provide an efficient and organised service
  • Reviewing tax returns, self-employed & rental accounts and communicating with clients
  • Providing advice on tax planning
  • Ensuring compliance with the Firm’s published policies and procedures
  • Ensuring good recoveries and prompt invoicing of work in progress

  • Ideally be ATT and/or CTA qualified; candidates with other accountancy qualifications along with strong tax experience will be considered
  • Have a minimum 5 years’ post qualification experience gained within practice
  • Extensive experience of personal tax compliance along with some advisory experience
  • Ability to manage a team and be confident in dealing with clients
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good general IT skills
  • Be self-motivated, energetic and able to work independently
  • Happy to undertake ad hoc work to assist in the smooth running of the practice generally
