Consilium Recruit are supporting a specialist engineering business producing precision engineered components and tooling solutions. Working to extremely fine tolerances the business has a modern range of CNC machines and related equipment, they are seeking an EDM Technician on a permanent basis.

The Role

The EDM Technician will work on spark eroding machines to produce precision engineered parts, working to extremely fine tolerances and ensuring the products are evaluated and inspected to the required standards.

You will set and operate EDM machines and working closely with the engineering drawing to produce the parts.

Additionally, the EDM Technician will support routine maintenance and upkeep of the machines alongside identifying opportunities for improvements to the manufacturing process.


The Person

The EDM Technician will possess experience working in an EDM setting on spark erosion and be well versed in the electrical discharge process for machining.

You will be able to read and interpret a technical drawing and, measure and inspect your work and have a good working knowledge of EDM process to resolve any issues in the manufacturing cycle.

The EDM Technician will have experience of working in a busy machining environment and ideally holding an engineering qualification (welcome but not essential).
