Rehabilitation Care Assistant - Short Term Support and RehabilitationFull and Part Time - £25,646.06 FTE + 45p per mile

Short-Term Support and Rehabilitation (STS&R) is a reablement service covering the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Reablement is a short-term, person-centred support service designed to help individuals regain the skills and confidence they need to live independently after an illness, injury, or hospital stay. By focusing on reablement, we empower our customers to do things for themselves and regain their independence rather than relying on ongoing care.

We are expanding the service to support a larger customer base and are recruiting for Rehabilitation Care Assistants to work part-time and full-time hours. This will be covering a mix of morning and afternoon shifts on a rota basis, including alternating weekends; there are no night requirements.

STS&R is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Rehabilitation Care Assistants, Support Staff, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, and is a great opportunity to develop new skills and find out about different roles in adult social care. Experience of working as a Support worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant, or working in Domiciliary Care would be helpful, however this is not essential as we provide full in-house training so we welcome applications from all employment backgrounds.

As this is a community-based role, it is essential you can drive and have your own vehicle as you will be travelling to different locations in the RBWM area, such as Taplow, Maidenhead, Windsor and Ascot. You are paid for your entire shift, rather than time spent with customers, and we pay 45p per mile.

Working for Optalis you will also receive a range of benefits, including:

  • A Perkbox rewards package offering discounts on cinema, shopping, health, travel and insurance.
  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata) increasing annually to a maximum of 30 days, as well as 8 bank holidays and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • An additional health and wellbeing day.
  • A comprehensive paid training and development programme.
  • Excellent career progression opportunities and support.
  • As a valued and integral member of the team you will have a voice in the service and forums to be heard and make a difference
  • STAR awards - a reward scheme which recognises staff who have gone the extra mile.
  • A generous pension scheme

Optalis is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our staff and customers. All successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check and will need to provide proof of their right to work in the UK. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The DBS clearance level required is Enhanced with Adult Barred list.
