CRIMINAL SOLICITOR (PRIVATE CRIME), 3+ YEARS PQE, BERKSHIRE, £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)You will be joining a high-quality and growing Legal 500 firm which offers long term career prospectsJOB REF: 215297506.THE FIRM:The firm is a forward thinking, innovative law firm which prides itself on return custom, consistently delivering high quality legal advice and ensuring the needs of its clients and community are met.The firm offers a competitive salary, flexible leave, a cycle to work scheme, hybrid working and continued professional development programmes.THE ROLE:You will have a varied caseload which will include:• Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.• Drafting legal documents, including correspondence, proofs, witness statements and pleadings.• Case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.• Advising clients in Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, as well as other tribunals and appellate courts, as required.• Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients, conduct case analysis, and collaborate with external professionals such as Barristers, forensic experts, and investigators to build a robust defence.• Representing clients in disciplinary tribunals, court proceedings, including bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, plea negotiations, trials.THE CANDIDATE:You will have a good grounding in all aspects of criminal law and be passionate about building a private criminal practice.You will manage your own caseload, assist with business development and supporting junior members of the team.
