Conveyancing Assistant / Secretary

Maidenhead

My client is a forward thinking, innovative and friendly law firm with multiple offices, which has grown substantially in recent years. They are looking for a Residential Conveyancing Assistant / Secretary to join their busy Maidenhead Team.

Duties

  • Set up new files accurately and speedily on instructions from fee earner.
  • Draft straightforward legal documents.
  • Attend to clients both on the telephone and in person. To take and record accurately any messages and pass the same to the appropriate person without unnecessary delay.
  • Assist with processing of straightforward re-mortgages and transfers of equity, working with some independence but always supported by the relevant lawyer.
  • Deal with e mails and the scanning and copying of documents and correspondence as directed by the lawyers.
  • Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up to date diary.
  • Provide support for other team members as and when required (including holidays and sickness).
  • Through the Firm’s case management system prepare documents, mortgage deeds and Land Registry searches.
  • Prepare financial statements prior to completion.
  • Ensure that Certificates of Title are given in accordance with Rule 6 of the CML Lenders Handbook under supervision of the lawyer.
  • Document date and version in footer so that it can be found easily internally
  • Ensure completions take place on the prescribed day and liaise with clients on keys and possessions.

To be considered for this role you will need to have recently experience working as a Residential Conveyancing Secretary / Assistant or similar.
