Your new roleOur client is on the lookout for a dynamic Product Owner to oversee a variety of projects from inception to completion, specifically for their consumer-facing solutions. This role is pivotal within their agile development team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, valuable features and functions. As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in shaping product features and requirements, collaborating closely with Agile engineering teams, Product Managers, customers, and business stakeholders to create top-notch products for our target markets.In this role, you will stay aligned with and contribute to the product vision, roadmaps, and priorities. You will work closely with stakeholders, including customers, partners, consulting, and support teams, to understand product needs and translate them into actionable user stories. Acting as a product evangelist, you will help Product Managers and Business teams grasp the best practices of using the platform.Your responsibilities will also include contributing to and developing documentation for new features, such as user interface mockups, process and data sequence diagrams, and release notes. You will lead sprint ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospectives, and collaborate with teams to review output during sprints, answer questions about desired functionality and outcomes, and lead sprint reviews and product demos.Additionally, you will ensure the team has the appropriate number of stories in the backlog prepared for sprint planning by conducting backlog refinement and monitoring ready stories versus velocity. Managing the product backlog in ALM tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps will also be part of your role.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you need to have between two to five years of experience working as a business analyst, product manager, product owner, or in a similar role.We're looking for someone who is a highly motivated self-starter, eager to help others and proactive in seeking out resources to excel in the role. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, especially the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms. You should be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines effectively.Having strong problem-solving and analytical skills is crucial, as is the ability to work well under pressure. You should be collaborative by nature, with a strong desire to learn both independently and by asking questions. It's important to consider best-practice standards and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.A solid understanding of the fundamentals of software development processes and procedures is necessary. You should have sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail. Lastly, in-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles is a must.
