About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Drama Teacher to join a secondary school in the Chertsey area. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving Performing Arts department.
As a Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, fostering a passion for drama and performance among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drama and theatre, with the ability to engage students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Develop schemes of work that encourage students to express themselves and build confidence.
- Prepare students for practical assessments, performances, and GCSE or A-Level examinations.
- Promote teamwork, communication, and self-confidence through performance projects.
- Organise and support extracurricular activities such as drama clubs, school productions, and theatre trips.
- Provide feedback and monitor student progress to help students achieve their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Performing Arts curriculum.
Candidate Profile:We are looking for a Drama Teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching Drama at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-Level.
- Demonstrates a passion for drama and the ability to inspire students.
- Is confident in creating engaging and innovative lessons.
- Has excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience leading school productions or extracurricular drama clubs is highly desirable.
- A background in theatre performance, directing, or stage management would be an advantage.
- The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach to working in a team.
