The students at this school have been identified as struggling with social, emotional and mental health needs. They have been through adverse childhood experiences and need additional support to ensure that they are able to follow through with their interventions while at the same time, keep up with their academic work load.
These students will have specialised interventions to support their mental health struggles and encourage them to do well academically. The interventions and therapeutic practices also encourage emotional regulation and mental health support.
As an emotional support worker, you will need to be patient, take initiative, have good communication skills, be able to work well in a team and have a genuine passion for supporting students.
