Our amazing specialist school in Oxford are looking for someone to come in as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant.
The role would include duties such as:
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to offer guidance and support
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance your skills
- Help model healthy coping strategies and social skills
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe and structured learning environment
- Facilitate group activities and promote positive peer interactions
- Collaborate with the school team to identify triggers and develop proactive approaches to behaviour management
Qualities you need to have to be a Mental Health Teaching Assistant:
- Educational background in Psychology, Criminology or Education will be advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience working with children with Autism will be a huge advantage
- Patient, have a positive attitude and be proactive
