Location:Swale and Maidstone

Rate of Pay:£21 P/H (Umbrella)

We are currently looking for an experienced Accommodations Officer to join the Housing Team at Swale and Maidstone Council. This is a temporary contract to cover long term sick leave.

Main Duties:

  • Oversee tenancy sign-ups, enforce tenancy conditions, manage anti-social behaviour cases, and support tenants in sustaining their tenancies.
  • Conduct property inspections, ensure compliance with safety regulations, manage repairs, and oversee void property turnaround.
  • Work with the Housing Finance Team to manage rent collection, address arrears, and handle tenancy enforcement actions, including eviction if necessary.
  • Assist tenants with housing needs, maintain accurate records in council systems, and respond to complaints while ensuring compliance with council policies.

The Candidate Will Have:

  • Knowledge of tenancy agreements, enforcement actions, and managing cases such as anti-social behaviour and rent arrears.
  • Ability to address tenant complaints, resolve disputes, and offer support to vulnerable residents, including those in temporary accommodation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with residents, resolve issues, and provide support throughout the tenancy.
