Design Manager

About the role of Design Manager
This role will see you join a Tier 1 Main Contractor who have just won several new tenders in the Kent area across commercial and residential sectors. You will be working in conjunction with Contracts and Project managers as well as the commercial team to support them in fulfilling the contractual requirements to complete, safely, on time, and to the required whist minimising costs.
- Ensuring the design solution is in-line with the project budget and plan
- Conduct design reviews
- Chair design meetings, workshops and record accurate minutes
- Co-ordinating detailed design requirements with consultants and subcontractors
- Fully manage CDP items through to an acceptable completion, and co-ordinate the designs to final agreement with the client's design team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within a Tier 1/2 environment
- Experience working on commercial or residential projects would be beneficial
- CDM awareness
- Good H&S skills
- Strong negotiating and communication skills
- Strong understand on commercial and contractual issues
- SMSTS and CSCS card
