We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a 2-month temporary assignment to support during a period of sickness leave. This role is based in Maidstone and is ideal for candidates who are immediately available. While experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous, it is not essential.
Day-to-day of the role:- Process incoming invoices, ensuring they are coded and matched correctly.
- Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
- Maintain vendor files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Assist with monthly status reports, and monthly closings.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
- Assist in year-end auditing as required.
- Handle payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
- Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Good organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel.
