A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a large school in the Medway Towns for a Caretaker on a temporary basis. An enhanced DBS is required for this role.

You will be working full-time on a rotating shift pattern, Monday-Friday, all year round.

The shifts are as follows:

  • 06.00-14.00 Week 1
  • 14.00-22.00 Week 2

There may be an opportunity for a permanent position for the successful candidate after a qualifying period.

You will undertake a range of general duties, including minor repairs and maintenance, to ensure the security and good order of premises. Previous maintenance experience would be advantageous, however not essential as full training will be provided.

Duties

  • Ensure the security of buildings and act as principal key holder
  • Report any defects to the Site Manager
  • Test fire and other alarm systems weekly
  • Undertake simple repairs and minor improvements e.g. changing washers, replacing defective light tubes, basic grounds maintenance, occasional painting and decorating and cleaning
  • Ensure all service points are clean and clear of litter and graffiti internally and externally. Spot clean as necessary throughout the building
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all Health & Safety policy guidelines
