Working within a collaborative team, you will provide professional, impartial IAG to prison residents, motivating them, developing work-related skills, and providing support to help them find employment, education, training, apprenticeships, or volunteering opportunities upon release.

You will also manage and support a caseload of peer mentors and provide inspirational IAG and Employability programmes in 1:1 and group sessions.

We are looking for an experienced Careers Adviser to work across the HMP Maidstone and HMP East Sutton Park sites on a part-time basis.

Contract: Permanent - Part-time (three/ four days a week)

Closing Date: 7th October 2024. Interviews Held: Friday, 25th October

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • An IAG qualification at level 4 or above is essential for this role.
  • You must also be able to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients, have a non-judgmental attitude, and desire to support people in fulfilling their potential.
  • A commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role
  • Experience in working with partners to support beneficiaries to succeed/ progress
  • Experience in supporting and mentoring beneficiaries face-to-face or in group settings
  • All appointees will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check and Prison Vetting Clearance.

Desirable

  • AET qualification at Level 3 X
  • Experience working with offenders either in prison or the community
