I am seeking an experienced and highly self-motivated Sales Manager to lead a sales team and become a key member of the management team for a growing organisation in Maidstone.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new role within a vibrant and fast-paced company in the wholesale food and drink retail sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the business’ margin and growth targets, developing and executing sales strategies, and fostering new Key Account relationships to achieve financial objectives and maximise sales growth opportunities.

Day to day of the Sales Manager:

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
  • Design and implement strategic business plans to expand the customer base and ensure a strong market presence.
  • Oversee the recruitment, setting of objectives, coaching, and performance monitoring of sales representatives and telesales staff.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Lead and develop the company’s national account activity in close collaboration with the Managing Director.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team capable of delivering against the company growth strategy.
  • Deliver profitable business results through sound financial planning, resource management, and alignment of systems and processes.
  • Provide sales, revenue, and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Sales Manager:

  • Proven experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrable track record in sales within wholesale, with a good understanding of independent retail and foodservice sectors.
  • Strong existing relationships within the industry.
  • Strong business acumen and industry expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
