Our client is a reputable Construction and HVAC Commissioning company based in the Southeast, dedicated to providing high-quality commissioning and balancing services in line with the latest industry standards. The company is seeking a Commissioning Engineer ready to step into a management role, with a focus on air, water, and domestic hot water system balancing.

Purpose of the role

The successful candidate will bring expertise in commissioning and balancing HVAC systems according to the latest CIBSE Codes and BSRIA Guides. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer with strong technical skills to develop leadership capabilities, manage a team of engineers, and shape project outcomes from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage commissioning projects, with a focus on balancing air, water, and domestic hot water systems in compliance with CIBSE Codes and BSRIA Guides.
  • Perform and supervise precise system balancing activities for HVAC installations, ensuring all work meets industry and client standards.
  • Oversee and support a team of commissioning engineers and technicians on-site, providing guidance and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and clear communication.
  • Implement project schedules and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to timelines.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including commissioning plans, reports, risk assessments, and balancing test results.
  • Promote safety, quality, and best practices across all commissioning activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and encouraging adherence to industry standards.

Must have or hold

  • Demonstrated experience as a Commissioning Engineer, with hands-on expertise in balancing air, water, and domestic hot water systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest CIBSE Codes and BSRIA Guides for system balancing.
  • Leadership potential with excellent communication skills, capable of managing teams and client relationships effectively.

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
