I am currently working with a reputable Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy in the retail and commercial sectors who are looking to add a skilled Structural Engineer to their team. This growing practice offers diverse and challenging projects, providing the opportunity for professional growth, development, and career progression.

Key Responsibilities for this Structural Engineer:

  • Undertake detailed structural engineering design for retail and commercial projects
  • Prepare technical reports, schedules, and designs across various stages of project development
  • Lead and manage CAD/BIM model production, collaborating closely with technicians
  • Act as a company representative in meetings with clients, suppliers, and third parties
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality service, meeting design objectives and adhering to project deadlines and budgets
  • Utilize Tekla or alternative building modeling software to produce structural designs
  • Apply your knowledge of materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and traditional builds to design significant structures
  • Take responsibility for project delivery, while demonstrating the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Manage aspects of project finances as required

The Ideal Candidate for this Structural Engineering role include:

  • At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering (BEng / BSc / MEng / MSc)
  • Chartered (or close to Chartered status) with a desire to become fully Chartered
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Tekla or similar building modelling software
  • Experience in designing with steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and traditional construction materials
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to work within agreed deadlines and budgets
  • A proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to manage both technical and financial aspects of projects
