An experienced Chartered Building Surveyor is required to join a Chartered Building Surveying Practice offering a range of services to customers across the commercial, private and public sectors with Insurance reinstatement, building design, property development and building services working across the UK operating from offices within the London, Southeast, Midlands and Northwest areas.

  • Due to an enviable reputation leading to an increase in business and new clients, this experienced Surveying Practice are looking to strengthen their already strong professional team where you will work from your home-base or work hybrid from their South East office, all depending on your individual circumstances, and either is offered as they have a flexible working approach.
  • The role will be busy and varied and will involve working on a wide range of projects, primarily insurance work, reinstating residential and commercial buildings in all forms of construction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
  • Conduct measured surveys, defect diagnosis and associated investigations.
  • Determine the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects, including proposals for repair.
  • Prepare reports, specifications and drawings for repairs, refurbishment, demolition and re-building of all types of buildings.
  • Tend projects and provide post tender analysis.
  • Oversee works using recognised building contracts and to current technical standards.
  • Work independent as project lead with sound knowledge on all aspects of professional consultancy services.
  • Understand and apply other relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning regulation.
  • Play an active part in promoting the company's services to secure projects and promote the business.

About you:

  • Experienced in project management/design/contract administration (JCT) - Essential.
  • Insurance reinstatement experience - Desirable
  • Experienced in dealing with all perils
  • An organised, efficient and reliable individual who is thoroughly professional and be fully committed to developing a long-term career with the company.
  • Experienced in understanding CAD, CDM Regs 2015, The Party Wall etc. Act 1996, Building Regulation and Planning Legislation.
  • MRICS qualified.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
