Connect it Utility services are looking for a civils operative based in and around the Maidstone area. The role is to provide onsite civils services in a safe, co-ordinated, and efficient manner to competent industry standards whilst adhering to customer and Connect It rules and procedures. Previous experience of deep excavation and working on or around utilities (Electric, Water, Gas).

Excavation: Work on excavation projects to industry standards around utilities, ensuring all relevant information and pictures are captured on the Company field-based system.

Equipment Use: Ensure competent use of disc cutter, wacker plates, compactors, and dumpers. Ensure tickets remain up-to-date and that equipment calibration remains current.

Risk Assessment: Understand method statements and complete daily site-specific risk assessments.

Safety Compliance: Work around members of the public and/or other site workers, ensuring your area of work has been risk assessed as safe and is compliant with Street Works Legislation as required.

Communication: Excellent communicator with strong organizational and written communication skills, capable of interfacing with people at all levels.

Tablet Proficiency: Ability to use a tablet to record work on the field-based system.

Safety Practices: Always work safely, wearing relevant PPE and operating equipment that is fit for purpose.

Customer Focus: Strong customer focus with a right-first-time behaviour.

Certifications: Proven track record in risk assessment and safe working practices with an active first aid certificate.

Educational Requirements

NPORS or similar dumper tickets required.

NRSWA Streetworks qualification preferred for team leaders.

Driving License: A full driving license including the ability to tow is essential (held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points).

EUSR Shea Power/Gas/Water desirable.
