Kent Fire & Rescue Service are looking for an EUC Engineer to join them for six months on a fixed term contract. The role is hybrid, with the Headquarters being in Tovil (near Maidestone).

Purpose of Contract

The purpose of this contract is to engage an End User Computing Specialist who will provide specialised technical solutions and support in the following areas:

Windows 11 Migration: Work with the team to provide a Proof Of Concept for the migration of our current estate to Windows 11. This should include providing technical expertise and training to the IT team.

Management of Shared Devices: Investigate and implement solutions for managing shared Windows devices, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Compliance with NCSC Guidelines: Ensure that our current devices adhere to National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) guidelines and provide recommendations for improvement.

Enhancements for Corporate iPhones: Investigate and implement improvements for corporate-owned and managed iPhones, including reviewing and updating Intune policies.

Guidance on Connectivity: Review our current device connectivity solutions and challenges (Wi-Fi, 4G, VPN) and recommend/implement improvements

Key Aims/Goals to be Achieved During Contract

  1. Windows 11 Build Deployment
  • Develop and deploy a robust Windows 11 build that meets organisational needs and follow NCSC security standards.
  • Provide documentation and training for IT staff on the new Windows 11 build.
  1. Update iPhone Profile and Guidance
  • Create and implement an updated iPhone profile.
  • Investigate improved network connectivity to our infrastructure, including the options for using VPN solutions.
  • Develop guidance and support materials for transitioning to the new profile with new devices.
  1. Review of Shared Devices
  • Provide recommendations on our current Windows shared devices and suggest improvements with both the shared device aspect of the devices and network connectivity.
  • Provide recommendations for iPhone shared devices.
  • Review Security Policies for our Shared Devices.

Reporting Line

Reports to the End User Device Manager.

Experience required:

  • Experience of end to end Windows 11 Migration and Devleopment (or above)
  • Experience with Smartphone set ups
  • Strong Customer Service experience
