My client, a leading Housing provider based in Kent, is seeking an InterimĀ Head of Risk, Governance, and Data Protection to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a broad and impactful role that oversees governance, risk, compliance, data protection and internal audit functions, ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory obligations and maintains high standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Governance and Risk functions of a high performing Housing Association, including leading a small team of dedicated professionals.
- Overseeing Data Protection activities, managing the internal audit contract, overseeing Procurement activity, and owning the business continuity plan.
- Leading the organisationās response to consultations, including regulatory rent consultations.
- Coordinating compliance with consumer standards and completing key assessments.
- Delivering risk management activities, including horizon scanning, board engagement, and year-end compliance reviews.
- Maintaining and ensuring adherence to governance policies.
- Preparing the organisation for successful regulatory investigations.

The position offers hybrid working, with a mix of office-based and remote work, making it accessible to professionals in the Kent area and beyond. There is some flexibility on the setup of the contract meaning that candidates who express an interest may be able to tailor the role to best suit their skills, and a four-day working week can also be negotiated.

- Proven ability to manage internal audit processes, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks.
- Strong leadership skills, including team management and budget oversight.

- Knowledge of data protection principles and business continuity planning is desirable.
