Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Buy-to-Let Underwriter to join our team in Kent. The primary responsibility of this role is to underwrite BTL loan applications in line with the company’s lending criteria, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and underwrite BTL loan applications, ensuring all documentation, including valuation reports, meets the firm's standards.
  • Request additional information from brokers when necessary, addressing any concerns or discrepancies.
  • Conduct thorough checks on applicants and properties to assess their suitability for the loan.
  • Proactively manage a pipeline of mortgage applications, ensuring timely updates and chasing outstanding information from third parties.
  • Collaborate with introducers, valuers, and solicitors to oversee cases from start to completion.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in underwriting BTL mortgage applications.
