Finance Business Partner | Outskirts Maidstone - On Site | £60k - £70k DOE

A growing and dynamic FMCG business in Kent is seeking to appoint a talented Finance Business Partner to join their team. Reporting into the FD, this is a business facing role, interacting and building relationships with the senior management team cross functionally and putting new processes in place, making it an excellent opportunity to add value.

This role will partner the production side of the business, providing detailed and in-depth financial analysis and support in its decision-making process. This requires an individual who is dynamic, have a personal impact and gain and maintain credibility across the business. The role will require someone to be proactive in supporting, influencing and challenging senior management. The person in this role will be expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business through building working relationships at all levels within the company.

This is a newly created position so you will have the ability to make the role your own and has been created due to skills gaps within the current team around cost reporting, margins etc.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the finance contact to work with the business in order to achieve its financial objectives through financial analysis as well as business insights and solutions.
  • Analyse costs and profitability
  • Proactively challenge senior management and develop and propose financial solutions to address business needs.
  • Support in annual costing and budgeting processes, along with standardised costs of production.
  • Continuous improvement of processes for efficient and effective financial analysis for commercial and finance teams.
  • Support other functions, such as accommodation and transport, in order to ensure cost efficiencies are delivered.
  • Understand and challenge data sources and assumptions to ensure reporting is robust, consistent and supportable
  • Provide critical appraisal of and input to key decision making throughout the production side of the business
  • Act as the deputy for the finance director in their absence

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or QBE)
  • Experience within FMCG, Manufacturing or Fresh Produce type industries
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude to deliver effective business partnering with influential stakeholders
  • Good attention to detail
