We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and ensure compliance with food safety, legality, and quality standards & BRC. The role involves managing the Quality Assurance (QA) department and New Product Development (NPD) support functions.

Description
- Implement and maintain systems and procedures for timely and accurate quality monitoring, assessment, and documentation.
- Continuously enhance the site's Quality Management System (QMS) including internal audits, hygiene, HACCP, traceability, supplier approvals, customer complaints, non-conformance, corrective actions, and pest control.
- Ensure QMS documentation is up-to-date
- Collaborate with the Technical Manager to conduct risk assessments on both existing and new products as part of HACCP.
- Oversee production runs to ensure compliance with agreed specifications and standards.
- Ensure the completion of daily QA tasks and address non-conformance issues
- Report and act on non-conformance issues raised internally or by customers, including monitoring stock holds and disposals.
- Develop and assess QA team performance against annual plans and targets through regular reviews, communication, and training.
- Train factory staff on BRC standards, customer requirements, and relevant documentation, ensuring training records are properly maintained.
- Investigate customer complaints and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Oversee the quality management of third-party supplied products.
Profile
- Experience in the Food industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and labelling requirements.
- Experience in managing technical specifications and using ERP systems eg; SAP
- Experience with customer complaints, NPD processes, and long shelf-life products.
- Understanding of food microbiology.
- Experience with third-party audits
- Degree in Food Science or a related field.
- HACCP qualification and advanced Food Hygiene training.
