Relocruitment is delighted to be partnering with one of the largest removals and storage firms in the UK. Operating a 1,200-container warehouse, they specialise in logistics and storage solutions.

With their warehouse managing a high volume of removals, they are now seeking a dedicated and hardworking Warehouse Operative & Forklift Driver to join their busy team in Kent.

As a Removals Operative & Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the warehouse. Your responsibilities will include physically loading and unloading containers, accepting deliveries, overseeing crews, and operating a forklift to relocate crates and containers.

Additionally, you will assist with warehouse management tasks, such as preparing vehicles for daily routes and working with the Warehouse Management System (WMS) Palletline.

Shifts will be rotated, with one running from 6am to 3pm and the other from 10am to 7pm. Every other Saturday is a working day, but if you work the previous Saturday, you will have the following Wednesday off.

On Wednesdays worked solo, the shift would be from 6am to 7pm. Both Saturday and Wednesday shifts will only be assigned once you’ve gained enough experience to work independently without supervision from the Warehouse Manager.

Aside from the additional days, no overtime will be required.

The ideal candidate will hold both counterbalance and reach licenses however, those with one or the other will also be considered with training offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Container Handling: Load and unload goods from storage containers manually and with forklifts.
  • Forklift Operations: Safely operate forklifts to move and position crates, containers, and pallets within the warehouse.
  • Deliveries & Inventory: Accept and inspect deliveries, ensuring accurate recording of stock and containers.
  • Team Oversight: Oversee and assist warehouse crews to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and handling of goods.
  • Yard Management: Open and close the yard, ensuring all operations run smoothly at the start and end of the day.
  • Vehicle Preparation: Assist in preparing trucks and vehicles for their daily routes, ensuring they are loaded properly and ready for dispatch.
  • WMS Operation: Utilize our Warehouse Management System (Palletline) to track and manage stock, container movement, and warehouse operations.
  • General Warehouse Duties: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Forklift Operator's License with experience in handling large containers and crates.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, loading, and moving heavy objects.
  • Previous experience in removals, storage, or logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with Palletline WMS or similar warehouse management systems.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Good communication and leadership skills for overseeing warehouse crews.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to health and safety standards.
