Pearson Whiffin Education is seeking an experienced Head of Maths for a SEMH School based in Maidstone. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the maths department at a medium sized school who

As Head of Maths, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and inspiring students in their mathematical journey. The school prepares students for work or further education, fostering independence and personal growth. Many students are in care or assisted living, and the school’s aim is to equip them for a successful transition into adulthood. Ideally the candidate will have previous experience teaching in an SEN school or experience working with pupils with complex additional needs. The Ideal candidate will hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a strong subject knowledge within Maths.

Your responsibilities as Head of Maths will include:

• Delivering engaging Maths lessons to prepare students for work or further education• Supporting students' educational growth• Tracking student progress and providing support where needed• Adapting lessons to suit students with additional needs• Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment• Managing resources and ensuring effective lesson delivery• Working with senior leadership to support student development• Helping improve student outcomes in Maths
